Beware Cave is a very interesting, but rather short, cave. It
is located in the Utah desert. It is a massive warm spring that generates a large
amount of water, considering it is located in a very dry area. A whole creek
emanates from it and feeds several agricultural practices in the area. It is also a
local swimming hole for the residents of the area. It is fairly well known by the
locals, but is usually quite on a Sunday or later in the evening.
Caving in Beware Cave only requires a helmet and a light
(literally). It is only about 60 feet long, but it is fairly well decorated with
popcorn all over the walls. The water rushes out from the back and sides of this
passage, and drips constantly from the ceiling. It is a great place to go and play,
and does not require much time to visit. It is the only cave I have been in that I
come out cleaner than when I started.
More recently, I went back with my SCUBA gear and my underwater
camera. Here are a couple of shot of what lays underneath the water in Beware Cave.
